CHILD SAFETY - MISSION STATEMENT
This Mission Statement developed by the Committee of the Red Hill Agricultural and Horticultural Society Inc., (“the Society”), affirms the commitment to child safety of the organisation. The Statement is also posted on the Society’s website to help raise awareness of the importance of child safety in our community.
OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETY
The Society believes that all children participating in the Red Hill Show have a right to be safe, happy, respected, supported and empowered.
The Society is committed to the safety of all children - this to include those from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds and/or those with a disability. The participation of children in the Red Hill Show, is actively promoted. Every effort is made to provide a safe environment for all, within the Show precincts. The Society has a zero tolerance to child abuse in any form. Systems are in place to protect children, and all allegations and concerns are taken very seriously. The Society will respond immediately to reported incidents, in line with its policies and procedures.
The Society seeks to attract and retain volunteers of high calibre. Active supervisory support of all recruited volunteers is provided to ensure that volunteers fully understand their responsibilities, particularly in regard to the safety of children. Legislation supporting Child Safe Standards and Working with Children Checks, is closely monitored and kept under constant review by the Society to ensure that all relevant requirements are being met, at all times.
